Eyeglass Slipping

Eyeglasses are definitely a part of any fashion strategy and the way some brand name eyeglasses and sunglasses are priced, it would seem that many people (demand economy) agree.

But today I’d like to offer some analysis into this little explored area of fashion.

Fashion glasses can easily cost upwards of five hundred to a thousand dollars when all is added up at the end of the day, and for what purpose?

The purpose of course is that when you meet someone you want to make a good first impression and when a person looks at your face, your eyeglasses if they’re stylish helps them form a positive impression of you. And the corollary is that cheap glasses help others form a negative impression of you.

Fashion eyeglass wearers know this and that’s why so much is spent on luxury glasses.

But consider this. Despite their price tag, luxury glasses are designed and built the same way as ordinary glasses: there are three contact points by which the glasses (fashion or otherwise) sit on your head. They are the contact points on your left and right ear as well as your nose.

And if you think about it for a moment you’ll agree that there’s nothing at these three locations to hold your glasses in place. It’s not like your head is covered with Velcro and the eyeglass frames are also covered in Velcro so by extension when the two are brought together there is adhesion.

Why is this important? Consider for example the kangaroo. Kangaroos have pouches on their bodies to hold their young, which suggest that kangaroos from an evolutionary standpoint were designed to carry their young.

But nothing on our heads suggests that we were meant to wear glasses. And that’s why glasses always slip down your nose. Our heads aren’t built to prevent glasses from slipping.

Anatomically, the ears are higher than the nose bridge and so one’s glasses slant downwards. And even the slightest sweat or oil on one’s nose will cause eyeglass slipping.

What’s more, let us now turn our attention to the design of your glasses. They are heavier in front than in the back because your lenses are up front. This is especially true if you have glass lenses as opposed to lighter plastic lenses.

All this contributes to falling glasses.

And no matter what optometrists do to adjust the frames or temple tips, it doesn’t change the fact that with the slightest bit of perspiration our glasses will slide causing no end of frustration.

Now back to your really expensive fashion glasses. You’ve spent all that money to look good, but how good do you look when your glasses are slipping down your face? It’s like money wasted.

But now there’s a solution. Consider Keepons eyewear retainers. These wonderful attachments are made of allergy-free rubber and slide over the temples of your eyeglass frames. Once in place they act like comfortable hooks over your ears to prevent your glasses from sliding down your nose. As a result, because you spent a million bucks on your luxury glasses and you look like a million bucks.

Keepons are small and effective, and their made of transparent material so no one will notice you’re wearing them.

My glasses slip down my nose

If you wear glasses, then no doubt you'vre said the above title to yourself many times. Too often to count. Too often than your care to remember to because in this day and age of advanced technology, iPhones, the Internet, why can't anyone do something about falling glasses???

There are many problems caused by falling glasses namely:

  1. You don't see well
  2. You suffer from low self-esteem because you see yourself as nerdy
  3. You feel uncomfortable

Well here's a solution.

It's called Keepons eyeglass retainers. Yes, the term eyeglass retainer doesn't really explain what it is. How's this name...Keepons anti-slip eyeglass attachments. A little better. Basically Keepons are small pieces of transparent engineered rubber which slide onto the temples of your glasses. They sit there and stop your glass from slipping by creating traction and balancing out the front heavy aspect of your glass lens.

Here's some reasons you might find Keepons useful:

  1. Keepons are light and compact making them really comfortable to wear
  2. They get the job done because they're made tear resistant rubber, these retainers will last forever
  3. Keepons eyeglass retainers are perfect for students and professionals. Why? No one wants to be seen wearing a eyeglass retainer strap while attending classes. And as for straps in the workplace, that's like wearing sandals with a business suit.
  4. They stop your glasses from sliding even if you have oily skin
  5. If you have a flat nose and the bridge of your glasses keep sliding then Keepons will hold up your glasses from the rear
  6. You won't have to push up your spectacles every few minutes. It helps you reclaim your life.
  7. They're great for chefs. Keep your hands on the cooking instead of trying to...keep looking.
  8. There are many different style of Keepons eyeglass retainers for different style glasses, and different style heads.
  9. They're made of rubber that stretches to fit even wide temples.
  10. Your eyeglasses won't slide even if you're sweaty.

Now picture this.

In school, you were always the skinny kid. Picked on, overlooked, never the kid chosen. But in entering adulthood, perhaps call it late blooming, you re-examined the things that caused you anxiety as a teenager and revisited them. Especially your relationship to your body.

You joined a gym recently. Actually it wasn't intentional. You were having lunch with a co-worker and on the way back to the office, a pretty young woman approached you and suggested that the both of you join their local gym. They were running a promotion, buy one gym membership get another one free. And they would throw in a new gym bag. You didn't jump on the offer right away, but that afternoon you thought about how in school, it was the jocks that got the girls. You imagined yourself bigger, stronger, and more confident, and a broad smile crept upon your face.

So you send an inter-company email to your buddy suggesting you join up together. Agreed. On the weekend, you take a drive to your local sports store and pick up a pair of Nikes, something basic which costs you around $80, nothing extravagant, and a couple pair of knee-length gym shorts. You already have plenty of old rock concert tee shirts from your college days, so no need to buy news.

The first day at the gym, things goes well. The membership comes with a fitness appraisal and you find that you're in pretty good shape. Mostly because you don't smoke and only occassionally have a drink, like at the annual Christmas dinner. So three days a week, after work in hit the gym. Benchpresses, shoulder presses, upright rows, and it's always the same: your glasses keep slipping down your nose.

Why? You're sweaty and moving in a jerky manner. So in the middle of set of bicep curls, you put down your dumbbells and again, push up your glasses, again and again, and like Pavlov's dog, working out becomes conditioned with falling glasses, and soon you don't want to go anymore because it's a pain. Even though you paid for a year, you abandon your grand plans of muscular domination after only 3 months.

If you had Keepons eyeglass retainers, your life would be one big happy.

OK, true animals don’t wear glasses.

But as human beings, when our glasses slip we feel bad, about looking bad and seeing bad and other see us in a negative light as well.

Well no longer. For the price of an inexpensive lunch at McDonald’s you can stop slipping glasses for good with Keepons eyeglass retainers. Their slogan is Keepons keeps your glasses on. And their slogan is true.

  • They're light and compact and oh so perfect

Here’s an actual case study involving Keepons eyewear retainers:

Blame it on genetics. Blame it on busy parents. But you spent most of your childhood watching at least six hours of TV each day. But you didn't ignore your intellectual development. In fact you loved reading. When you weren't watching TV, you had your nose in a book.

When kids went out to play, you were in the library. And so you were seven years old when you got your first pair of glasses and your sight got worse and worse over the years. Not only being nearsighted but astigmatism too. You had to sit in front of the class cause you were always squinting. It looked like you were wearing the bottom of coke bottom glasses.

Obviously, you weren't a part of the cool crowd. You were never popular or voted most likely to succeed.

And one time you made the mistake of selecting plastic frames without a nose bridge when your mom let you pick your own glasses. How you suffered for a whole year, always pushing up your glasses. After that you were smarter. You always chose metal frames. But always your lenses were too thick because of your vision problems. Making them heavy and still slip.

With advents in technology and better financial circumstances like from your summer jobs, you were able to afford the thinnest plastic lenses, but even the thinnest ones made your glasses front heavy. Even when you weren't sweating, your glasses were always slipping.

Even though you studied Marketing, everyone thought you were a computer programmer because you were always pushing your glasses up off your nose. Which always made you feel self-conscious and therefore nerdy. Which made you feel intimidated and nervous around women.

You met your first girlfriend when you were 29. That lasted only six months. Off and on, off and on, you've never had much luck with women because you're so self-conscious. Often at parties with friends, you envy all the couples who seem so happy with one another, while you spend your night watching streaming movies or ted.com videos or playing world of warcraft.

Of late you are considering, that you'd like to go to Tibet and stay there for a couple of years. To meditate on life, the universe, and finally perhaps don the yellow robe, shave your head, and become a monk. Might as well, you'll never find true love.

It’s doesn’t have to be this way, if you just try a pair of Keepons eyewear accessories. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Here's how to stop glasses from sliding down your nose

It's not like curing cancer, but when it happens to you a hundred times each day, you definitely reach that frustration level where you wish someone would cure glasses from sliding down your nose once and for all.

Seriously, how many times per day do you lift your slipping glasses?

10 times per day? 50 times per day? If you're like most eyeglass wearers, probably over 300 times per day. You might think, "that's impossible!" but along with breathing, blinking, saying "um" and "ah", it's one of those things we do so often that we're de-sensitized to it.

Not to mention that falling glasses make you look kind of slow and not attractive. Flustered. Not smart. Well you get the idea.

OK, now for the good news.

There is a cure.

And the cure costs roughly 5 dollars.

And it will stop your glasses from slipping for good.

They're called Keepons. Small eyeglass attachments which slide onto your eyeglass frames and act like comfortable little hooks around your ears and...prevent eyeglass slipping.

Have a look at some photos below.

Case Study:

How Keepons Can Help You Find A Job

You've been looking for work for a long time now. It got so bad that you had to move back in with your parents. Which was devastating for someone who's 35. Your savings dwindled to nothing along with your self-esteem and self-confidence. You were let go from your last position when your company outsourced operations offshore. You got two month's severance which after-taxes was barely enough for a short trip to Barcelona, Spain to unwind.

And you found yourself without in-demand skills. Your parents love you and won't kick you out, you know that, but they fight constantly. Slowly you find yourself becoming more and more depressed. It gets so bad that you stay in bed all day which is fine with your parents since you need your sleep. But you start regressing and you find your adulthood slipping away. You have no money and are ashamed to hang out with your friends.

Then suddenly one day out of the blue you get a call from the HR person at a job you had previously been rejected for. It's a temp position in logistics. The company needs someone to get the packages ready for courier-pickup. It doesn't pay well at all. It's well beneath your education. But you realize that beggars can't be choosers. So you go to the interview primed to do your best. And you even visualize yourself working really hard and making something of yourself in a couple of years. Perhaps a middle-management position.

In reality, the interviewer is a jackal-looking man with a huge chip on his shoulder. He asks you a series of meaningless questions to size you up, but since there's so much at stake, you find yourself unable to articulate your thoughts. Your mind draws a blank and you start getting nervous. And your darn glasses keep sliding down your nose. You push them up. Once. Then again. You feel so incompetent and so...foolish. You swear once you get some money together you're going to get laser surgery done to fix your eyes so you never need to wear glasses again. But then you cringe at the thought of lying there eyes wide open while a burning laser sweeps across your eyes. And possible blindness in later life.

You stumble your way through some more questions. Normally you're talking and vivacious. But your glasses distract you because they won't stay up. You place your hand on the side of your hand and in doing so, only manage to hear the last half of the question asked. You try to bluff your way through it, but it's no use. The condescending look on the recruiter's face is evidence that you won't get the job.

The words, "don't call us we'll call you" flash string through your mind and you're not sure if it was your imagination or whether it was really said. The man gets up to shake your hand without even looking in your eyes. You're not worth another look.

If only you had Keepons eyeglass retainers...
